Our commitment
Most of the people who work at CINIA have a disability. Making our own website usable is not just another legal requirement for us: it is consistent with what we do every day. We work so that anyone can find out about us, get in touch and apply for our vacancies without barriers.
Conformance status
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Today conformance is partial: we have fixed the barriers found in our latest internal review and are still working on the rest. We would rather say so plainly than claim full conformance we cannot yet support.
What you can adjust on this site
In the bottom right corner of any page you will find the accessibility tools button. From there you can:
- Increase or decrease the text size.
- Turn on high contrast or invert the colours.
- Widen line and letter spacing.
- Have selected text read aloud, and set the reading speed.
- Stop animations.
- Highlight links, enlarge the cursor and switch on a reading guide.
Your settings are stored in your browser, so they are still there next time you visit.
Compatibility
The site is built to work with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack), keyboard-only navigation and browser zoom up to 200%. You can pinch to zoom on mobile and use your browser zoom on a computer.
Background videos are decorative: they carry no information and no audio, and they can be paused with the button shown over them. If you have the reduced motion preference switched on in your system, they do not play.
Known limitations
There are still things to improve, and we would rather name them:
- Some downloadable PDF documents are not tagged for screen readers.
- The blog runs on a different platform from the rest of the site and has not had the same review.
- Some older content may still have image descriptions that could be better.
If you need any of that content in another format, ask us and we will send it to you.

When you write, if you can, tell us which page it happened on and what you were trying to do. That helps us find it much sooner.
